Canandaigua Interact Donates $1,800 to SWG!

“There are young people in places like Canadaigua that are focused on serving others, and making a difference in their world.”  Said Safe Water Ghana president, Jerry Graziano.

The Canandaigua Interact group, is the youth ‘arm’ of Canandaigua’s Rotary Club.  “Our mission is to raise money for International safe water projects and “service above self”. We sell bottled water at numerous events and concerts throughout the school year. Interact also held a Yankee Candle sale as our big fund raiser.  We also do many community service projects such as, ARC bingo night, Salvation Army’ Angel Tree – which delivers gifts to children at Christmas time and serving dinner at Ronald McDonald house in Rochester. We also collected 100 bikes in a bike drive for R Community Bikes to fit families in need of a mode of transportation.”  Said Interact advisor, Kelly Smith.

The Canandaigua Academy Interact Club has donated $1,800 to buy and install Hyraid Biosand water filters in Northern Ghana.

“This donation will go directly into a matching fund, established between The Wishing Well International Foundation, the Safe Water Team, and Safe Water Ghana.” said Graziano.
